This radio is great for travel. I always take it with me on the road, it is so much better than motel clock radios. Sound is good. alarm is good. I can listen to my iPod with it. I also purchased some rechargeable batteries and the radio charges them up when I plug it into an outlet so the batteries are always charged up...awesome idea.
Without a doubt, the SongBook is the perfect portable for any possible use. The audio is excellent, the features on the radio are without question, and the price is perfect. This radio is a hallmark of the quality that Tivoli Audio consistently produces. For anyone seeking a portable radio with all the aforementioned qualities, go no further, with SongBook you've found it!

Pros: Portable (take it on motorcycle rides), Great Sound, AUX input is great for IPODS, Great radio reception, presets Clock, Alarm and built in light are awesome.
Cons: A portable radio without a handle to carry ??? No rechargeable batteries included with a radio of this caliber?? This radio is expensive !!

Good little item
Date:January 18, 2010
Overall it's a good little item. The clock could be bigger. Would like to have had a push button on off switch.
I have a desk radio, an iPal, and a SongBook. I have given 2 SongBooks as graduation gifts to my neices. The SongBook is the Tivoli radio I use in the most varied situations: I travel with it, use on my porch, etc. It puts out GREAT sound, has very long battery life, & seems very durable. I love it.

Wonderful beach companion

We had an awesome time listening to our Songbook at the beach this summer. It is surprisingly durable and has a high quality sound, so we use it in our home as well.

Best portable I've owned
Date:October 23, 2009
When the two for one offer came up I couldn't turn it down. I used the opportunity to introduce a friend to Tivoli products and add a portable for my workshop, in addition to the model 2 I have in the dining room. This radio blows me away! It's sound is full, the reception is great, and the aux input is great for all manner of inputs. My friend was thrilled, saying it truly replaces the KLH model 8 that went missing a few years back, and loves the fact his iPod sounds so good with it. Thanks Tivoli!

What a great gift
Date:October 22, 2009
My parents moved into a new apartment and somehow forgot to pack their radio. They always admired my Songbook, so I sent them one as a house warming gift. They love it and my Dad can be heard singing along to it throughout the house.

Love it!!!!
Date:October 22, 2009
I bought my SongBook not knowing anything about Tivoli but it was on sale half price and it was BLUE!!!Boy was I surprised. I love everything about it. Size, quality of sound, workmanship, etc.
Wow! That's a beautiful radio. So elegant and simple, but it sounds great. And it'll fit into my carryon bag. Just perfect for those out of town business trips to nice up my hotel room!
originally bought this as a bathroom radio fro my wife. the sound is awesome. she was so impressed she takes it everywhere throughout the house (even though we have a stereo or radio in every room.) we use rechargeable batteries, which last a decent amount of time between charges, and make it easy to take everywhere. we both listen to several genres of music, and they all sound great.
I got one for my wife at work and one for myself to listen to while getting ready for work. It gets fantastic reception and is east to use with the auto-like push buttons. The sound is great and is very portable.
I bought this to use out in the lawn. It has rechargeable batteries so I keep it charged and ready to go. The reception on Am/FM is excellent even with the antenna down. The sound is also excellent and I can hear it even when I am across the lawn, so the amp is full. I can also plug in my iPod or use headphones (Stereo reception for headphones) All in all a good buy
Decent sound quality in a very portable package. I often listen to baseball games on this and it performs very well at the drive-in theater to tune in the movie audio.
I have bought 3 of these. Mainly because of my love of the Ipal and the model 3. One for my 5 year old nephew and he loves it and uses it to dance in the shower and to fall asleep and the other for me (can you ever have to many radios). and the third to a friend for his bathroom. He is a tough customer and loves it.

Hands Down the Best
Date:October 13, 2009
I have had several portable radios and this is by far the best in class. It has very sensitive tuning, easy to use controls, and excellent mono sound quality. It also maintains a strong charge for many hours with the rechargable battery.
After seeing how much my son enjoyed his PAL we decided to get my daughter a Tivoli Songbook. We were not disappointed and she loves it! It would be better if it came with rechargeable batteries. It looks and sounds great!

Amazingly good
Date:October 13, 2009
I am a classical music freak and what counts is sound that is neutrral but rich, natural but impressive.. This little radio has all that to an amazing degree and a powerful receiver oln top of it.. I already owned a Type One and should not have been surprised but I certainly was.. I've been listening to classical music for close to 60 years and I'm impressed.. A lot!
